How do I know if I need an upgrade?
If you have ceramic fuses, no safety switches, or your board trips often, it’s time to upgrade. We can inspect and advise.
How long does it take?
Most domestic switchboard upgrades are completed in a day.
Is a safety switch the same as a circuit breaker?
No. A circuit breaker protects the wiring from overload. A safety switch (RCD) protects people from electric shock. Current wiring rules require RCD protection on power and lighting circuits.
Do I need a bigger board for solar or an EV charger?
Often yes. Solar, batteries and EV chargers all need their own protected circuits, and older boards frequently have no room. We size the new board for what you plan to add, not just what you have now.
Will the upgrade be compliant?
Yes. Every upgrade is done to current wiring rules by a Registered Electrical Contractor (REC 23984), and you get the compliance paperwork.
Do you do emergency callouts?
Yes. We work Monday to Friday 7am to 5pm and Saturdays by appointment, with 24/7 emergency callout for faults that cannot wait.
